Fascia, Lymph & The Art of Letting Go

Melbourne winters are brutal on the skin.

Skin soaking is my FAVOURITE go to for extra hydration and its so easy.

How to do it:
1. Wash your face with a very gentle cleanser, or just rinse with cool water.
2. Soak a soft clean cloth in cool or lukewarm water.
3. Press it gently onto your face— don’t rub.
4. Hold it there for 5-8 deep breaths, re-wetting the cloth and repeat a few times.
5. Pat skin lightly so it’s still a little damp.
6. Apply a very simple moisturiser or barrier cream to “seal in” the water.

And hello to soft and hydrated skin. Plus if the water is on the cooler side this is really good for the nervous system.

There’s a moment that happens in almost every facial I do.

It’s maybe ten minutes in. The cleanse is done. The room is warm.

My hands are moving across her face, her jaw, her neck.

And then I feel it.

Her shoulders drop.

Her head gets heavy — not held up anymore, just resting.

When I move her head gently from side to side, she’s not helping me.

She’s not guiding it or bracing against it. It just... goes. Soft. Floppy.

Completely surrendered.

Her breathing slows. Her face changes.

She’s asleep. Or somewhere close to it. That in-between place where you’re not quite here and not quite gone.

For most of the women on my table, this is the only moment in their entire week where their body stops holding everything together.

Why I begin every treatment with a tuning fork…

Before every treatment, I begin with a gentle sound ritual using a 128Hz tuning fork.

This simple step helps the body settle before we begin any hands-on work.

When the fork is activated and placed on specific points of the body, the vibration travels through the bones, fascia, and connective tissue, inviting the nervous system to soften and shift into a state of deep relaxation.
